Icon description route Description

Enjoy a nice forest walk through the Troostemberg forest in the valley of the Winge that leads you to the Bensberg. You start at the historic Gempemolen, which today is set up as a nice brasserie. By the way, every first Sunday of the month, the owner Hans Meus puts the old mill into operation. Afterwards, you walk to the Troostembergbos that covers the 82.5-meter-high Bensberg. It is a real walking forest with beech, sweet chestnut and birch trees. The Troostembergbos is still a remnant of the ancient forest that once covered the entire Hageland. The Troostemberg family inhabits the nearby Kleerbeek Castle.

This hike is offered by Tourism Flemish Brabant.
