Icon description route Description

The Hageland at its best: back to the "good old days" with the beautifully situated Moedermeule. You start at this authentic grain mill where you can enjoy Hageland specialties. Already hilly through an enormously varied landscape of forests, orchards and fields. You walk up the Eikelberg, one of the typical Diestiaan hills of the Hageland. At the top of the Eikelberg, enjoy the panoramic view of Gelrode, which is sandwiched, as it were, between two ridges and thus protected from the northern wind. In the Kloesebos, children can play to their heart's content.

This walk is offered by Tourism Flemish Brabant.

Sunday, February 27, 2022 by A.J.Beautiful hike. Already hiked it in different seasons. Remains surprising to find so much nature and tranquility so close to Aarschot city.

Tuesday, December 8, 2020 by Bart VandyckVery nice hike with well-traveled, often unpaved, roads. Beautiful views from both ridges. The background noise of the highway is often present but the surroundings make up for it. Ending the hike in the Motherwell would have been perfect, unfortunately ... Covid 19 and closed. Next time we will definitely do that.

Friday, September 25, 2020 by Guy Van dammeWith start and arrival at the Moedermeule, it is an added value. Beautiful walk. Once out of the village you have a tough and beautiful climb and afterwards you walk on the ridge of the Eikelberg with beautiful views on both sides. Many alternations and the bits of asphalt do not disturb because they are nicely incorporated into the landscape.

Friday, July 31, 2020 by Eef VerschuerenVery nice hike with lots of variety. For those taking the kids: Kloesebos is a nice forest, but don't expect play equipment with the word "play forest." It is really meant as a "forest where you can play".

Monday, June 29, 2020 by Peter WilsBeautiful, varied hike through a rolling landscape. The scenery changes constantly, you walk through fields, orchards, forests and you even climb a hill. We enjoyed the natural beauty. Standouts are definitely the mill and the beautiful scenery.
