Icon description route Description

Start at the St. Stephen's Church in rural Nederokkerzeel. The church houses a unique organ by the Leuven organ maker Jan Wauters. Along the way you get to know the fields and nature of Nederokkerzeel. You walk up the Grevelberg and a little later you can wander through the swamp of Torfbroek, an area known as the oldest nature reserve in Flanders. Pass by the Listerhoeve, the oldest existing house in Nederokkerzeel dating back to 1519.

Monday, September 16, 2024 by G.K.Nice approach along fields to the torfbroek. Between points 103 and 104 you have to go through a meadow. In our case there were horses and and the gate was closed with a rope. However, about 50 -m away is a small road by which this can be bypassed.

Saturday, June 1, 2024 by K.D.Beautiful walk past lots of green fields and grazing cows. Bit of mud defying though. But then again, where not to do that these days 😅

Tuesday, August 16, 2022 by Cor van HasseltGood walk lance fields where you step under landing planes. The marshy part of the Torfbroek is also beautiful. At the starting point there is parking and a little café where you can have a drink after the hike. In some places you have to be careful not to miss the arrows.

Saturday, June 25, 2022 by Yasmin VdCVery nice walk. Quiet, rural. Little hassle along the way. Extremely pleasant for people and animals. Lane 105-106 very muddy so sturdy walking shoes well recommended. Parking super easy. Keep eyes peeled for signs along the way!

Sunday, July 4, 2021 by Hilde VdVVery nice hike especially in nature. Fields and meadows with many feral nature strips in between where the wildflowers were plentiful. In the swamp area it was muddy though due to the much rain of the past period. Adventurous forest section along the way and also section under the aircraft routes and between the villas. Variety, we like that.

Tuesday, December 8, 2020 by Bart VandyckNice walk on well-traveled trails, bit much asphalt maybe. Nice view of the fields and through the Torfbroek. The latter is a beautiful piece of nature with reed beds. As another review brings along, you have to take the planes with you.

Thursday, August 29, 2019 by M.D.Wonderful hike! Especially the swampy part was strangely beautiful. Very well marked too. One time I think a pole got twisted (105/106). Just before that we had to cross a ditch where the walkway was broken. There were a few logs to ease the crossing, though.
And yes, you have to take the planes with you....
