Icon description route Description

Follow Aert van Beethoven on one of his Sunday walks through Relst. This ancestor of Ludwig van Beethoven made his living as a farmer here 5 centuries ago. The village has some beautiful lands such as the castle Ten Opstal and the castle Ter Loonst. On the meadow north of the Ter Loonst castle would once have been the home of Aert van Beethoven. Fan out along the Leuven - Dijle canal, the second canal dug in Belgium.

This hike is offered by Tourism Flemish Brabant.

Sunday, December 26, 2021 by K.D.At no place is there a sign! Even at the church of Relst, where the hike starts, there's nothing.
The hike is something for when it hasn't rained for a long time because the small roads and field trails are far too wet in the winter and broken up by tractors and mountain bikers.
