Icon description route Description

This walk takes you past trees in parks, natural areas and gardens. The eye-catcher is definitely the arboretum. It has more than 2,000 different species brought together in the 20-acre park. Especially special are the collections of Magnolia, Maple and Rhododendron. You can also walk past the WWI memorial forest, through the Schorisgat nature reserve and the park of Breughels Gasthof.

You can visit the arboretum of Wespelaar on Wednesdays and Sundays, from April 1 to November 15.

This walk is offered by Tourism Flemish Brabant.

Sunday, March 31, 2024 by M.D.The route through Schorisgat is very beautiful. The designation is not quite right. You don't walk all the way between trees. Still worth the effort.

Sunday, September 20, 2020 by Godelieve Van rompaeyWe too were disappointed in the "tree walk. The pieces of nature were beautiful, but far too few and in between were long stretches along the streets, often without footpaths too. In the surroundings of Wespelaar and Haacht there are much nicer walks!

Sunday, November 10, 2019 by E.V.The tree walk is a mis-chosen name for this hike. The well-marked nodes lead you along streets, railroad.... a real disappointment! A tiny bit of nature here and there though.... The arboretum indeed can only be visited on Wednesdays and Sundays. This should be mentioned more 'prominently' anyway.
Perhaps hence the name tree walk..... only on Wednesdays and Sundays so

Thursday, May 2, 2019 by M.D.The route was a bit disappointing. The trail itself was well marked and there were quite a few nice green bits (very nice fine water anemones seen), but most of it still consisted of "built-up areas. The Arboretum can only be visited on Wednesdays and Sundays. That was also a setback.
