Description
The Witloofboerke waves you off at your starting point, in the heart of Kampenhout. Luc Mathijs' sculpture is an ode to the farmers who made Kampenhout a true village of chicory. Cultivation palmed off on the villages east of Brussels at the end of the 19th century because the chalky soil of loam and sand was well suited to it. Buy a box of chicory straight from the farmer and step into Brewery Van Campenhout's café Het Labo for a freshly tapped Witlov 6 or Witlov 9.

Sunday, February 7, 2021 by Hugo DeconinckHow is it possible that in a municipality with such treasure and attention to slow roads such a trail is offered? Revision and densification of the trail network should be possible here.
