Icon description route Description

This walk through the Kempen countryside is full of variety and surprise. The short version is perfect for children: 3.5 kilometers of walking and playing pleasure. With areas to romp, with respect for Mother Nature.

The long version is a dream for "big kids" who want to enjoy the beauty of the moors. You will discover the winding White Neet, which drives the Retie water mill. Then you head into the Beverdonkse Heide: a patchwork of woods and open plains, meadows and fields. Just before junction 93 you may make a detour to the Hallifax memorial stone. The Schaapschoor Bridge is also on your route. Dry throat? Knock on the door of a tavern along the way or in the village center. In the 'best pub village in Flanders' you will not be left thirsty.

Sunday, November 3, 2024 by J.V.Blessed hike with lots of different scenery, a stretch of deck trail and a tavern about halfway up. In or after rain not recommended for people with mobility problems. We saw a lot of different mushrooms which was super cool 😊

Sunday, October 15, 2023 by H.M.Beautiful hike with lots of variety. The junctions are clearly indicated. The wooden boardwalk is in urgent need of repair ; boards broken, chicken wire missing in many places which gives a slippery surface when it rains. For the rest we really enjoyed this hike.

Wednesday, May 11, 2022 by Herman Van den reeckIndeed beautiful route along mostly dirt roads and also a nice walk for children with witch house, bridges and natural play equipment made of wood. Also beautiful water mill. Did the hike on Wednesday, did not encounter many people, but catering facilities were not available.
