Icon description route Description

We depart from the Heemtuin near Munster-Geleen (Sittard). From here, we have a beautiful view of the nearby village.

After crossing a busy road, we climb up the slopes of a vineyard hill. Immediately, we are at a considerable height and are treated to beautiful vistas.

We walk across a plateau through grass fields and farmlands, with beautiful rows of trees standing out sharply against the horizon. In clear weather, you can see the cooling towers of Maasbracht and the wind farm of Saeffelen on the other side. The borders are so close here that you can see three countries. For a short section, we even walk, as it were, on the border line.

Via a field path, we ascend back to the highest peak. The highlight is indeed Huize Watersley, built in 1752 as a manor and hunting lodge. Past the iron cross, we continue through the picturesque village of Windraak with its square farms.

For those who want more, a short walk in the Heemtuin at the parking area is possible.
