Icon description route Description

The route winds picturesquely through forests and over rocks in the area between Echternach and Berdorf.

Highlights include the Wolfsschlucht, Huel Lee, the amphitheater, and the Aesbachtal. The Wolfsschlucht is a steep and slippery gorge along which the path winds its way. From the Middle Ages to the 19th century, millstones were extracted in the rock caves of Hohllay and Breechkaul, now known as the amphitheater, for local mills. The distinctive patterns in the rock are still visible today.

The hike is quite challenging with the climb from Echternach to the Berdorf Plateau and takes about four hours. Wearing sturdy shoes is highly recommended. One can also opt for shorter routes, such as just the section between Echternach and Berdorf or vice versa. Buses run regularly between Berdorf and Echternach.
