Start with a refreshing walk on the dike along the Bergsche Maas. Tip: Leave the dike and walk right next to the Maas on the grassland so you can experience the water with its birds, ships, and imposing trees up close. Once you reach the fenced meadow, climb back to the dike path, and you're ready to discover the rural Doeveren.

You walk over an old 12th-century seawall, along nature reserve Elshoutse Wielen with its marsh, bog, and pond areas. This area is home to unique plants and animals.
