Icon description route Description

The Bayehon is a wild stream that rises in Neûr Lowé Fen. In Longfaye it hurls itself into the depths as a waterfall. Starting from the village, we reach the narrow valley via a steep path. We cross a wooden bridge and there we are, already walking along the Bayehon, which is at our feet. First there are pebbles, then tree roots. And there are puddles too on our way, which takes us through one of East Belgium's most beautiful landscapes, formed by the Bayehon. We hear the roar as we climb the hill, and then we see the waterfall, which pours forth into a large basin after a fall of nine metres.
Further up, the Old Oak (Vieux Chêne) has been greeting travellers for centuries. On past fir trees and through the moor, we walk as far as the sources of the Bayehon. After crossing a road, we continue towards Fagne de Setay, one of the lower peat moors on the plateau. Along the fen, bilberry, rushes and gentian put you in mind of a biotope of the kind you would usually expect to find in the mountains. This walk is strongly characterised by the varying character of the plateau.
