Icon description route Description

"In 2017, with the support of the Flemish Community and the municipality of Grobbendonk, Natuurpunt was able to purchase the Molenbos from the d'Ursel family, securing a 60-hectare domain in one fell swoop. Through additional purchases, the Molenbos has since grown into a sizeable nature reserve of more than 70 ha.

The area immediately forms an important ecological link between two other large nature reserves within walking distance: Lovenhoek and Schupleer.

Some areas in the forest are marked out as rest areas to allow rare breeding birds and the vulnerable roe population the necessary rest. But Natuurpunt is also giving everyone a chance to fully enjoy the forest. We are tackling the battered forest roads and have created a new hiking trail. The Bosvogelpad winds through the entire area. Our volunteers have also restored the old and neglected footpath connecting the village centers of Vorselaar and Grobbendonk. "
