Icon description route Description

Bravely fighting the wind in the open field, then downhill at breakneck speed to conquer the slope on the other side of the valley right on the pedals. Davering over the cobblestones, soaking up the fresh forest scent and sprinting to the next village. When the spring 2020 classics arrive, you will ride your own classic on the roads of the Brabantse Pijl.

Grease your calves for a tour full of variety where only the truly great cycling heroes flourish. Eddy Merckx, Roger De Vlaeminck, Freddy Maertens, Eddy Planckaert, they all stood on the highest podium of the De Brabantse Pijl. Edwig Van Hooydonk even four times. They didn't have time to take a break along the way in one of the many fine catering establishments, but you do!

This sporty bike route takes you to South-Dijleland and through Oud-Heverlee, Korbeek-Dijle, Leefdaal, Duisburg, Vossem, Tervuren, Eizer, Huldenberg, Sint-Agatha-Rode, Huldenberg, Overijse , Tombeek, Ottenbrug, briefly crossing the language border to Pecroz, Nethen, Beauvechain and via Opvelp back to Oud-Heverlee. About 98 kilometers long, good for 1033 altimeters. The route is signposted, but you can also download the gpx coordinates so the GPS will guide you the way.

This route is offered by Tourism Vlaams-Brabant vzw in cooperation with Flanders Classics and Rode Sportief.

Sunday, July 19, 2020 by G.G.Perfect for a sporty day with the course bike, lots of variety, also tough hills at times (especially if there are cobblestones). I had downloaded the gps file but the marking was top notch everywhere. It is also easily accessible by bike for Brussels residents with a start in Tervuren. Highly recommend it!

Friday, July 10, 2020 by Geoffrey AertsSuper bike route with lots of tough bits, perfect for the sporty cycling tourist. There are some gravel sections but everything is certainly doable on a racing bike. We started in Overijse then of course you start and end with the serious bits. I will definitely do it again!
