Icon description route Description

This is a beautiful cycle route in the vicinity of beautiful Bruges. You cycle along beautiful canals. At the Plassendale - Nieuwpoort canal, you cross the main road and continue straight on along a paved bicycle path until you reach Chargebeuze. You cycle towards Tillegem castle and forest, in the forest you can stop at the Trutselaar, ideal place to enjoy the lovely terrace in the middle of the forest.

The green stays close in company until we reach the Lac of Loppem, we cycle around the Lac on quiet roads towards Beisbroek. Varsenare also has this route in store. Further on you get to Jabbeke to continue cycling towards Zerkegem, the route now alternates between paved and unpaved roads until you reach the Roksemput.

After this you cycle past the historic Romanesque church of Ettelgem to get back to Oudenburg after a beautiful and pleasant bike ride.

Sunday, May 24, 2020 by Luc DepoorterWonderful route along the most beautiful spots of the Bruges area. I cycle along here regularly, don't need to cycle this route to know that this is a super beautiful route.

Wednesday, May 1, 2019 by P.S.At node 21 you are directed to node 65 by not cycling along the Bruges-Ostend canal. Then you get to node 65 where you can choose to cycle to 45 or 81. Perhaps 65 (along the canal on the map) has been replaced by another number.

Wednesday, August 1, 2018 by M.M.Very nice and quiet route, ideal for very sunny days because of many loamy paths.
Careful in St. Andries where the turnoff to point 57 is missing on the Gistelse Steenweg.
On rainy days possibly less ideal as there are occasional unpaved paths.
