Icon description route Description

You explore the Lys region in Kortrijk and its surroundings. The route follows the Lys downstream through Kuurne. From there it leads to the Provincial Domain De Gavers. Along Stasegem and the Bossuit-Kortrijk canal you cycle back to Kortrijk. Via the outskirts of Zwevegem, the route leads to Bellegem. It then passes Rollegem and leads to the border with Mouscron. The route passes by Aalbeke, Marke. From Bissegem, the trail looks for the Leie again.

With thanks to Westtoer.

Monday, July 31, 2023 by P.V.Does this route even still exist? I tried to pick up in Stasegem but nowhere to find a sign. I then drove a few km via the map but still no signs to be found. Finally in Kortrijk I chose another route. For me even half a star is too much.

Sunday, January 28, 2024 by M.V.I think it no longer exists, because today we also went to cycle the route starting at the Gavers in Harelbeke but found no sign anywhere!!!

Sunday, May 31, 2020 by L.Q.Wonderful route. Too bad about some inappropriate comments and sourpusses. By bike it's always a bit of travel around the door!

Wednesday, April 15, 2020 by S.M.Average nice route with the necessary variety for a quiet ride.
All signs are present but sometimes you have to look for them (detour is also provided).

Monday, September 16, 2019 by T.R.very nice route, but once in harelbeke
there is a sign to the left and then you find no signs anywhere above or under the bridge, asked several passers-by but did not know what direction to take, then after a long drive back and forth we found our way in the direction of the Meersstraat.
Very unfortunate for such a beautiful route
Apparently a long time problem that does not get solved see review 16/06/18 , 31/05/18 and 15/07/17
ROUTE NOT RECOMMENDED !

Sunday, September 15, 2019 by JOHAN DESEUREIN HARELBEKE DISASTROUS ! SIGN AT THE LIGHTS SAYS TO THE LEFT BUT THEN ???? ASKED POLICE AND PASSER-BY BUT DIDN'T KNOW EITHER. THEN DROVE IN THE DIRECTION OF THE GAVERS AND THEN AGAIN MISINTERPRETED BY TOURIST BUT FORTUNATELY IN THE DOMAIN FINALLY FOUND OUR ROUTE BACK. SORRY OTHERWISE BEAUTIFUL ROUTE

Friday, August 16, 2019 by J.D.Very pleasant route with nice hills and little traffic.
I think it is well marked because I have never taken a wrong turn.
Highly recommended.

Sunday, July 21, 2019 by R.K.Beautiful route but you have to be careful, the signs are sometimes not very logical! With GPS and signs together we only went wrong once, don't forget : beautiful views around Bellegem and Aalbeke. Lots of places to eat and drink along the route. We will definitely do it again a time or two. Xxx

Wednesday, June 26, 2019 by H.L.Signage could be much better.
Could it be that it is not possible to ride the route in reverse?
Passed Kuurne marina 4x and then gave up.
Next time better.

Tuesday, November 13, 2018 by R.B.Nice rout but in Kortrijk it is searching where the signs are right. Also on the rest of the pacourt you have to be careful and sometimes there is doubt if you are on the right track. We also took a wrong turn once but luckily we found the signs a little further on.

Sunday, June 10, 2018 by A.D.Left in good spirits with beautiful weather on this bike route. Beautiful until we lost the trail. In Harelbeke we had to turn left (signs across the road - not obvious). Apparently another sign was gone because we completely lost track of this route. Then returned via the same road.... Otherwise very nice along the water, quiet paths and roads....
Too bad next time I will definitely take the download of the map possible junctions. Will definitely be tried again only I hope the person in charge of this route himself makes sure the signs are picobello so we can follow carefree on a Sunday.

Thursday, May 31, 2018 by M.D.Started from Heule, along the Leie until Harelbeke, where the signs were already missing. Cycled in the direction of Gavers and could not continue to Stasegem because of road works. Cyclists were diverted without clear signs : disaster ! Took direction Kortrijk via parrarrelle road with the Gentse steenweg. Next time we will take a map !

Saturday, April 21, 2018 by S.H.Beautiful route.
Gpx track download in advance is not a luxury.
At several places signs were missing (or there was just a terrace in front of it).

Saturday, July 15, 2017 by S.V.A big disaster : after about 1 km there was no sign to be found, after about 8 km we were back on the route but a few km further on we came across a large construction site for the construction of a new lock and this without any indication of a road detour. Then we gave up and returned to Kortrijk. In short, the worst route ever.

Saturday, July 1, 2017 by F.D.Very nice route, flat until almost halfway, after that quite tough.
Little path in Rollegem I don't like that much.... only downside... for the rest more than ok

Thursday, March 16, 2017 by P.D.Nice route, the modifications are definitely an improvement.
Only the small path in Rollegem would be better eliminated. Really doesn't fit into the whole.

Thursday, May 5, 2016 by G.G.Very nice route.
Only could not finish it because in Bellegem important sign is missing (if you come from sports hall Lange Munte, then bike out of Bellegem and in front of you is a chapel, there is sign missing). I have cycled in different directions, but haven't seen a sign? Can you check that out on the spot?
