Icon description route Description

This cycle route offers all cyclists the opportunity to discover or rediscover the center of the Land of Waas. It is one of those rare regions where you can find such a large variety in such a small area. From Klein-Sinaai we cycle alternately between woods and wide-open fields towards Stekene. Then it goes via the residential Puivelde and the beautiful Dries van Sinaai to the outskirts of Lokeren. Along an old railroad embankment, the route quietly crosses the picturesque Daknam to Eksaarde and Moerbeke. From here the dike of the Moervaart takes us back towards Klein-Sinaai.The name Canteclaer route refers to the animal story "Van den Vos Reynaerde" that plays in the Wase region. The rooster Canteclaer is one of the characters.

Tuesday, August 23, 2022 by E.N.Beautiful and lovely sections, but also parts to forget. On the stretch between Lokeren and Eksaarde, the signs did not match the gpx file! Keep following the signs consistently and then at some point it worked out.

Saturday, October 31, 2020 by Erik DutoitBiked the Canteclaer route today 31/10/2020. The comments in the reviews are completely correct : beautiful route , but with very "lame" signage, which makes you ride wrong several times. The reviews are already there from 2016, resp 2018. Apparently nothing is done with them. Then how much sense does it make to post reviews here ????....

Thursday, October 11, 2018 by rudy SmetsAbsolutely beautiful bike route. I recommend using the GPX file, as the signage leaves much to be desired. We cycled this on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, and everyone knows it was a beautiful, sunny day. Carpe Diem!

Beautiful route in nature and quiet
And car free
Signage should be thoroughly reviewed
Here and there we had to search and we took some wrong turns but we always got back on the route
Otherwise I would give 5 stars now only 4

Friday, November 4, 2016 by L.K.VERY NICE ROUTE
the only downside is that there are not arrows everywhere to find the way correctly
I had no problems myself because of using a gpx on my navigation device
thanks in advance

Sunday, October 30, 2016 by J. .Beautiful wooded route in the Waasland region.
Little car traffic, so ideal for the
ordinary cyclist.
