Icon description route Description

The first section between Vilvoorde and Grimbergen is worthwhile scenically with the Drie Fonteinen domain and the Tangebeek forest. In Grimbergen you will be immersed in the idyllic banks of the Maelbeek with its old water mills. You continue cycling along the Brussels-Scheldt Canal to Kapelle-op-den-Bos. You get to know the Broekland, a wet and low-lying area that connects to the Rupel Valley. Along the Zenne Canal you return to the starting point. This route passes through the municipalities of Vilvoorde, Grimbergen, Kapelle-op-den-Bos and Zemst.

This cycle route is offered by Tourism Flemish Brabant.

Sunday, August 18, 2024 by Dana JoosenBeautiful route, but sometimes the signs were not clearly visible, and also a pity of the cobblestones, otherwise we enjoyed it.

Saturday, June 19, 2021 by Smets FrankBeautiful route. By the way, the cobblestones can be easily avoided, for those who prefer watching Paris-Roubaix to riding it.

Tuesday, April 21, 2020 by Jo VerbruggheBeautiful route. Surprisingly green spots in this region.
Some parts of dirt road.
Pay attention to signs, (e.g. between 55&29; 87&53. Before you know it, you drive the wrong way and you're on the road a lot longer than planned.
Thanks!

Friday, August 31, 2018 by A.V.The signs do not quite match the map on this website, but that is not a problem: you can follow the route perfectly without a map, the signs in the streets are clear. Route along quiet, often green roads. Also some natural areas along the way. Generally very flat, only in the domain 3 fountains very steep short section, and a 10% ridge in Grimbergen. Often roads where you can cycle side by side. Plenty of nice rest spots along the way. Enjoy!
